Just launched on the SidewalkSigns.us.com website is this handy sign base, sold on its own without the signboard. (We also sell the same product with a sign board...click here). The plastic molded base is fillable and can hold up to 4 gallons of water or sand. When filled, the base weighs around 30 lbs, enough to prevent your sign board from tipping over.
The sign base is molded with smooth edges all around. Contoured handles (hidden behind the board in this picture) allow for easy carrying and transporting. We suggest the use of rigid sign board materials, such as Sintra or Coroplast, to use with this sign base product. The board slides between the two clamps on top of the base and is secured with two screws. Both sides of the sign board are visible so count on using this sign base to advertise in both directions out on the sidewalk!

Wet erase boards are handy advertising and marketing tools, especially when used outdoors on the sidewalk. Problem is, in the case of rain, your hand-written messages are subject to ruination due to the fact the markers are "wet erase".
Fear not.
SidewalkSigns.us.com has come up with the sidewalk sign certain to dampen Mother Nature's resolve. Yes, this marker board is meant to be used with wet erase markers, but we have included clear non-glare lenses placed on top of the writing surface. This not only protects your messages from being wiped away by rain, but also prevents them from getting erased by other sneaky forces (read: small children). This double sided a-frame sign features a large writing surface with a top header portion. To access the boards, each of the four sides of the frame snap open to remove the lens and marker board (and the same is true for the header areas). When it comes to sidewalk signs, being portable is a necessary function. Their very existence depends on their ability to move outside in the morning, then inside in the evening, back and forth, back and forth, ad finitum. While some sidewalk signs fold up to be carried, others take the luggage angle. Remember luggage bags before wheels? There was an idea whose time was very late in coming.
Sidewalk signs, being somewhat smarter than luggage bags, took to using wheels when it mattered. These signs aren't necessarily as heavy as they are cumbersome. These metal bases support your custom-made sign boards and offer a bit more freedom when it comes to the design of your sign.
Create your sign boards to match the width of this base, or let the board extend a little on both sides. This particular sign base is a mere 12" wide, suitable for tall & narrow boards. Or, purchase two of these bases to support wider signboards. We suggest using foam boards such as Gatorfoam or other sign board materials such as Alumacor or Dibond as the substrate to apply vinyl graphics to. Signs with UV printing are another excellent choice. Either way, the signboards slide between the two sides of the base and are cinched together with two bolts. Since the bolts go thru your sign, you're left with a very solid display. The weight of the steel base helps with stability. (We recommend sign board heights not to exceed 72".)

Black letter boards with the little white "tabbee" letters remind us of those old-style directory boards seen in office building lobbies. We've just added this economic real estate sign frame to our product line. It's an a-frame by design, fabricated out of round-rod steel with a durable black finish. The frame folds flat for easy storing and transporting. What this real estate frame offers is a three-way marketing punch. This brand new product just launched at SidewalkSigns.us.com features quite a few improvements to the fillable-base, roll-away type design. First, the handsome black anodized poster frame matches the base for an attractive presentation. The base is designed with a sleeker and more low-profile appearance than other models. The base springs that support the poster frames are also less stiff, increasing the chance your sign will bend with the wind instead of resisting it (and falling over.)

Spring-loaded engineering is a feature of this rugged sidewalk letter board, new for 2009. The base springs (count 'em, 4 !) allow the sign to sway with gusts up to 30 mph. It's a complete unit coming fully assembled right out of the box. The main use of this floor stand base is for the displaying of rigid sign boards. This handy sidewalk sign is the display most customers use when they want to create their own sign. What you have here is a blank signboard that's ready to apply vinyl sign graphics. The board itself is 3/8" thick white Coroplast and is held in place by a durable aluminum frame.
This sign frame is then inserted over two metal poles extending up from the wind-deflecting springs (just visible in the picture at right). Said springs are mounted to the molded plastic base, which can be filled with sand or water for weighted stability in windy conditions. Besides offering our products to end users, we also end up supplying signshops and resellers with signs to sell to their customers. The bulk of these products are definitely the blank frames because signage or other substrates are required to be cut to size and slid into the frames. Signshops in particular are used to working with these products, and can not only cut the sign boards to size but also provide their customer with the vinyl lettering or printing for said sign.
This blank a-frame features all-steel construction with a gloss finish. The hinges allow for easy folding during non-use. At the top of the frame there are lids for each signboard that open up. Your 1/4" thick boards slide in there and the tops simply fold down once the boards are in place. Since there is no clear lens to protect paper posters and graphics, we recommend the use of weather-resistant sign boards such as Coroplast or Sintra. Moreover, vinyl lettering, silk-screening, or UV-cured printing are the typical graphic techniques required when using this type of sign. On sale now for around $40!

This week we are spotlighting a product that should have been offered a long time ago. Most sandwich board frames are made for standard size boards, like 18" x 24", and 24" x 36". While those sizes may seem logical, it's nothing further from the truth when it comes to efficiency. We're talking about "full sheet" efficiency. Signshops will usually buy sheet stock in 48" x 96" sheets to cut down smaller boards for these sign frames. If you do the math, those two standard sizes mentioned above with leave you with an unusable leftover piece (or pieces) from the full sheet. The yield is inefficient, which increases the cost of your sign by not utilizing the material to the fullest.
This is where our unique frame comes in. This blank sign channel is sized for 23" x 31" sign boards. While slightly different when compared to standard sizes, these will provide a "perfect yield" from a 48" x 96" full sheet with very little waste. Think about it. SidewalkSigns.us.com supplies a wide variety of neon brite fluorescent markers. These markers are "wet erase". Unlike typical dry erase boards that use an eraser to clear the surface, you'll need a damp cloth to wipe these markings off. These can be used on virtually any non-porous surface like glass, metals, acrylics, and other hard plastics. However by far the best use for our markers are illuminated marker boards. The fluorescent markings are visible when the boards are turned off but, look out, once they're turned on your messages glow like neon! This set of 6 markers includes these colors: white, yellow, green, blue, pink, and orange. The wide 3/8" flat tips generate thick, continuous lines.
We searched the world over for these markers, obtaining samples from all around the globe.
